Abstract:
ท่อนาโนคาร์บอนชนิดผนังหลายชั้น (MWNTs) สามารถปรับปรุงพื้นผิวโดยทำปฏิกิริยากับกรดซัลฟูริกและกรดไนตริกโดยอาศัยปฏิกิริยาออกซิเดชั่น หลังจากปรับปรุงพื้นผิว ท่อนาโนคาร์บอนจะอยู่ในรูปของกรด (MWNTs-COOH) ไอโอโนเมอร์ที่ใช้ในงานวิจัยนี้คือ ซิลเวอร์ซัลโฟเนเต็ด พอลิสไตรีน (SPS2Ag) ซึ่งเตรียมได้จากปฏิกิริยาระหว่าง พอลิสไตรีนและโพรไพโอนิล ซัลเฟต แล้วเปลี่ยนหมู่กรดบางส่วนเป็นไอออนของโลหะเงินโดยใช้ซิลเวอร์ไนเตรต ของผสมระหว่าง MWNTs-COOH และ MWNTs-COOH และ SPS2Ag ถูกเตรียมขึ้นในอัตราส่วน 20:80, 30:70 และ 40:60 ซึ่งจะเรียกชื่อในงานวิจัยนี้ว่า 20CNT, 30CNT และ 40CNT ตามลำดับ ลักษณะพื้นผิวและพันธะระหว่าง MWNTs-COOH และ SPS2Ag ศึกษาได้จากเทคนิค Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer และ Scanning Microscope (SEM) แลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่า MWNTs-COOH และ SPS2Ag สามารถรวมตัวกันได้โดยพันธะไฮโดรเจนและให้ผลดีที่สุดในตัวอย่าง 40CNT ซึ่งจากผลการทดสอบการตวจจับโมเลกุลของแก๊สไนโตรเจนไดออกไซด์ (NO2) และแอมโมเนีย (NH3) ที่ความเข้มข้นต่าง ๆ ที่อุณหภูมิห้องของตัวอย่างนี้ แสดงให้เห็นว่า 40CNT สามารถนำไปใช้เป็นตัวตรวจจับแก๊สได้
Multiwalled carbon Nanotubes (MWNTs) were modifified by H2SO4 and HNO3 via oxidation process. The product of modification is MWNTs-COOH. Ionomers were prepared via the sulfonation of polystyrene and propionly sulfate followed by partial neutralization with silver nitrate, whice provides and ionomer in the form of silver sulfonated polystyrene (SPS2Ag). Three composites were prepared based on the ratio of MWNTs-COOH and SPS2Ag, which are 20:80, 30:70 and 40:60, named as 20CNT, 30CNT and 40CNT respectively. The bonding and morphology between MWNTs-COOH and SPS2Ag were cgaracterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer and Scanning Electron Microscope. The results show that 40CNT contained the hydrogen bonding between-COOH and -SP3H. Resistance of CNT-based gas sensor was performed under various nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ammonia (NH3) gas concentrations at room temperature. The measurement presented that 40CNT is able to use as a gas sensor due to the physical bonding between MWNTs-COOH and SPS2Ag.
